On March 31, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, will deliver his annual Address to the Belarusian people and Parliament, Igor Sergeenko, Head of the Presidential Administration, told journalists, BELTA correspondent reports.

"I would like to note that issues of state and society development are constantly in the focus of the head of state. Look at the President's busy schedule. Just recently, a number of events with the participation of the President took place. These include meetings of the Council of Ministers, the Security Council, a meeting with the security sector of the country, visits to industrial enterprises, trips abroad where meetings with leaders and representatives of friendly countries were held. During these events, serious state tasks were addressed, covering various areas: both current activities and future prospects. Just yesterday, when appointing senior officials of local executive bodies, the President outlined a whole range of problems and tasks that concern not only those leaders who were appointed but also all current leaders of the vertical of power," Igor Sergeenko said.

The President noted that the year will be special. "It will be special, among other things, in terms of preparation for major political events – the electoral campaign. In 2024, elections to the Parliament and local Councils of Deputies will be held simultaneously. And for the first time, elections of delegates to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly will take place in a new format. All these processes will occur almost simultaneously. This is, of course, a large amount of organizational and preparatory work. These are quite serious and large-scale events. But ahead of us awaits another landmark, fundamental event – the annual Address of the President to the Belarusian people and Parliament. It will take place literally this week – on March 31, this Friday – noted the Head of the Presidential Administration. "I would like to emphasize once again that this event is landmark and fundamental, where the President, in his speech, defines the near-term strategy for the development of our country in the context of a rapidly changing geopolitical situation. But this is primarily a response to the concerns of our citizens. It is an analysis of the situation that is developing here and now, as well as for the future. For the high-quality preparation of the package of documents, at the President's request, various state, public structures, and the scientific community were involved. The study of trends in the development of the situation in the regions and public opinion has been organized. These materials allow the head of state to additionally analyze the situation that is developing in the country and comprehensively determine the Address, the ideas that the President will include in the text. I would like to note that the President continues to work on the Address. The situation is changing dynamically, almost daily, and this document requires updating."

It is planned that the event will take place in the traditional format for recent years - in a solemn atmosphere at the Palace of Independence. "It will be attended by deputies of the House of Representatives, members of the Council of the Republic, heads of ministries, state committees, local authorities, representatives of labor collectives, industrial enterprises, agriculture, science, education, healthcare, mass media, the diplomatic corps accredited in Minsk, delegations from all regions and the city of Minsk. It is planned that more than 2.5 thousand people will participate in the event," Igor Sergeenko emphasized.

"We understand that the Address is primarily a message to the Belarusian people, but naturally, the audience will be much wider. This is another opportunity for the head of state to convey the state position of our country to the peoples of those countries with which communication has been somewhat lost due to certain circumstances and the escalation of the international situation, as well as a certain geopolitical confrontation. I am confident that the head of state's speech will be bright, interesting, sharp, and relevant," said the Head of the Presidential Administration.
