"Who and how teaches history shapes exhibitions." Lukashenko on the importance of developing historical science
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of developing historical science during a meeting with ideological activists, historians, and the expert community, dedicated to the Day of National Unity, BELTA correspondent reports.
Speaking about the development of historical science in the country, the President noted: "It is important what topics graduate students and scientists are working on today, who and how history is taught, who and how museum exhibitions and tourist routes are formed".
The head of state stressed that he is interested in these issues from the perspective of emphasis on events, dates, and personalities. He drew attention to the fact that in many countries around the world, this issue is under special state control, up to licensing. "There, you do not have the right to tell about the history of the country without passing a special exam," Alexander Lukashenko said to the meeting participants.
