Belarus is striving to elevate relations with India to a strategic level. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, upon receiving the credentials of the Indian Ambassador, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"India is not just our long-standing friend and partner. We are striving to bring relations with your country to a strategic level," said the head of state.

With the support of New Delhi, Minsk became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and obtained the status of a BRICS partner country in 2024. "We are very grateful to the leadership of India for these steps," Alexander Lukashenko stated.
