The youth forum “Time to be Together” was held in the Miory district
Last weekend, the Miory district became a focal point for young people interested in the history and future of their country. The forum "Time to Be Together," dedicated to the memory of the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War and its significance for modern Belarus, was held here.
The event began in the village of Disensky Rubеzh with a solemn opening ceremony, a minute of silence, and a dialogue between young people and regional leadership as well as representatives of various agencies.
During the discussion, Sergey Romanov, Deputy Head of the Department of the State Committee for Forensic Expertise for the Vitebsk region, emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory.
Such events remind us of the terrible events that swept through our lands like a hurricane. We must remember the feats of the Soviet people, who, under the burden of daily risk and fear, strove to free the world from the fascist threat. Our department is one of those that contributes to establishing historical truth by participating in excavations aimed at discovering the remains of fallen soldiers, partisans, and local residents during the occupation. This work is extremely important as an act of preserving historical memory. It helps strengthen the bond between generations and pass on to future citizens of the country an accurate chronicle of the people's heroism, which forms the basis of our values and national identity.
Additionally, forum participants took part in a car rally visiting memorial sites in the Miory District. They visited the burial site of war victims in the Disna forest park area and the mass grave of liberators, where rallies and flower-laying ceremonies were held.
The Youth Forum "Time to Be Together" became a significant event that united remembrance of heroic past and contemporary dialogue about the future. It once again proved that the feats of Soviet heroes will forever remain in the hearts of the Belarusian people.
