24 appeals were received on Alexander Subbotin's "hotline"
The “direct line” with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, received a traditional range of questions concerning the operation of housing and utilities, road conditions, disputes with neighbors, landscaping, and other issues. However, there was one pleasant distinction – the communication between the head of the region and residents began and ended with expressions of gratitude.
The first call came from Vitebsk. A man noted significant changes in the city on the Dvina River, which has become more beautiful and cozy. According to the caller on the “direct line,” this is the achievement of the current leadership team of the region and the city.
– I am a person with an active life position. Like you, Alexander Mikhailovich, I graduated from the Vitebsk Veterinary Academy. I am not indifferent to everything that happens in my native city, which I love very much. It is evident that you also care for our common home. Good luck in your difficult work, – the man said.
Alexander Subbotin thanked him for the high assessment of the authorities’ work and stated the goal – to make the Vitebsk region the best in Belarus.
In total, 24 appeals were received on the “direct line,” the majority from Vitebsk. In particular, residents of houses at Frunze Street, 116 and 114, and Mira Street, 24, complained about leaks in their apartments. Due to dampness, mold appeared on the walls. A man, whose family includes a child with a disability, requested the installation of a ramp so that he could take his son out in a stroller, while a mother of two young children living on Gagarin Street asked for a bench and a sandbox in the courtyard. Residents of houses at Lokomotivnaya Street, 5, and “Pravdy” Street, 66, complained about problems with hot water supply.
– Boiling water flows from the kitchen tap, while the water in the bathroom is ice-cold, – explained a woman living on “Pravdy” Street. – We have contacted various organizations, but the water temperature has not improved.
All these issues were placed under the control of the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Gennady Sabynich, and the Head of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Dyadyolo.
– The appeals made have once again exposed our shortcomings. A great deal has been done in the Vitebsk region within the framework of the “Comfortable Housing and Favorable Environment” program, but certain deficiencies still remain. We will strive to eliminate them as quickly as possible, – emphasized Yuri Dyadyolo.
Residents of the Orsha, Postavy, Senno, Hrodak, Polotsk, and Chashniki districts also addressed various issues to the head of the region. All complaints will be reviewed, and people will receive responses. Some problems were resolved during the “direct line” session. For instance, a resident of the agro-town of Lukoml in the Chashniki district voiced the community’s request not to locate a waste processing facility near their settlement. It turned out that local authorities had already rejected this option. However, the second issue – restoring the road – still needs to be addressed.
Summing up the “direct line” session, Alexander Subbotin noted that residents of the regional center are more active and demanding, which is why they make more calls. In rural districts, people tend to rely more on themselves, although there are plenty of problems everywhere.
– But overall, all of them are solvable. Perhaps not as quickly as we would like. There are also complex issues that require court proceedings. We cannot bypass the legislation. Perhaps not everyone at the local level fully sees the problem. For example, a house that requires urgent repair is placed in the middle of the queue. I believe this is precisely why we conduct “direct” lines and citizen receptions – to identify these problems and resolve them as quickly as possible. In addition, I make an effort to listen to people not only on officially scheduled dates but also at other times, during trips around the region, – emphasized the Head of the Region.
