Over 43,000 children are planned to be health-improved in the Vitebsk region this summer

In the summer of 2023, 43,072 children are planned to be provided with health care in the Vitebsk Region, including 17,472 children in full-time camps and 25,600 children in day camps.

33 suburban stationary camps will operate in the region, with 19 of them owned by budgetary organizations and 14 camps located at enterprises.

In 2023, two suburban stationary camps will open: "Braslav Wave" of the Education Department of the Braslav District Executive Committee for 60 places per shift, and "Scarlet Sail" of the Education Department of the Shumilino District Executive Committee for 70 places per shift.

Additionally, full-time camps will open on rented premises in the Lepel and Orsha districts.

The average cost of a voucher in health care camps is planned to be 690.00 rubles.

1,400 teenagers will rest and work in labor and recreation camps. Children will perform work on landscaping and greening, repair of schools and school furniture, sewing of work clothes, care for plants, and will work in agricultural enterprises.

It is planned to provide health care for 1,600 orphans and children left without parental care, and 370 disabled children. Children from large families and employees of budgetary organizations will not be left without attention; for these categories of children, funds in the amount of 65,000 rubles are allocated from the regional budget to supplement up to the full cost of vouchers.

105 thousand rubles are allocated from the republican budget, and 755 thousand rubles from the regional budget for the preparation and strengthening of the material and technical base of suburban health care camps.

At the “Raduga” health camp, 40 children with disabilities under the age of 18 will undergo health improvement programs in two groups: children with disabilities diagnosed with cerebral palsy and musculoskeletal disorders, visual and hearing impairments, and those diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, accompanied by medical staff. The regional budget provides for payment of vouchers for wheelchair-bound children with accompanying persons to the “Emerald” health camp operated by the Department of Education of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, where a building has been renovated, a playground has been installed, and an accessible environment has been created for children with disabilities.

Suburban health camps are in high demand among parents, as the health benefits of children’s stay in a forested area at a stationary facility are incomparable in quality to their stay in a day camp at educational institutions in the city.
